Bearcat Stables Wedding Transportation

The thing to understand about Bearcat Stables is the road home. Squaw Creek Road is a paved county road that leaves US 6 west of Edwards and climbs toward Cordillera, and there is not a streetlight on it. Getting 250 guests up to a converted stables in daylight is easy. Getting them back down after the last dance, on a dark rural road, is the part a wedding here has to plan for, which is why the venue's own listing talks about shuttle service alongside its parking.

Squaw Creek Road after dark

By day it is a pleasant drive. The stables sit at 2701 Squaw Creek Road, below Cordillera, with indoor, outdoor and covered spaces spread across the property. At night the road is simply black, with no shoulders lit and no landmarks to steer by. We put drivers on this route who have run it before, in all wheel drive Sprinter vans and SUVs, and we treat the descent as slower than the climb. A guest who has been at the reception all evening should not be the one finding the US 6 junction at midnight.

Turning a 14 passenger van around at the stables

Bearcat lists parking on site and the property is handicap accessible, but a full size Sprinter needs more room to swing than a pickup does. Before every wedding we ask your planner to walk the drop point and the turnaround with us on a map, so the vans pull in, unload wherever the ceremony starts, and loop out without reversing through a crowd. Working that out in advance is the difference between a tidy arrival and a van blocking the lane while guests are still getting out.

Fifteen minutes from Beaver Creek, twenty from the airport

Bearcat lists accommodation on site, though not how much, and with a guest list this size the block usually lands in Edwards or Beaver Creek. Edwards is the closest, Avon is roughly 13 minutes off, Beaver Creek Village a quarter of an hour, and Vail Village close to thirty minutes. Eagle County Regional is around 20 minutes away, which makes this one of the easiest venues in the valley for guests flying into EGE.

For a Beaver Creek block we usually run the arrival as two waves out of the hotel, about half an hour apart, with enough vans that each wave is a single trip rather than a queue. Anyone sleeping at the stables needs nothing from us until the day after. The return is a loop back down to the hotels, sized so the second wave is not standing in the dark waiting for a van to climb back up.

For a wedding at Bearcat Stables, give us the hotel and the guest count when you request an event quote, and the night gets planned around Squaw Creek Road. Our wedding transportation page describes how we staff a full weekend. For the short hop in from EGE, see Eagle County Airport to Beaver Creek.
