Betty Ford Alpine Gardens Wedding Transportation
Our drivers never see the Rooftop Terrace at Betty Ford Alpine Gardens. Guests cannot be driven to it. The terrace sits above the Education Center in Ford Park, on the east edge of Vail Village, and Betty Ford Way below it is reserved for vendors, two vehicles at a time with a 15 minute window to unload and move on. Everyone else arrives on foot.
So the question for a wedding here is not how to reach the venue, it is where to put people down so the walk is short and the timing holds.
Drop at the Ford Park lot, not Betty Ford Way
We use the Ford Park lot or the Ford Park bus stop on the South Frontage Road. From the lot it is about a five minute walk to the Gardens. The Vail Village parking structure is the other option, roughly ten minutes on foot, which is fine for guests who want to stroll but not for grandparents. The free town bus and hotel shuttles also serve the Ford Park stop, so some of the party will turn up that way on their own.
Weddings here are small. The terrace seats 50 or holds 95 for cocktails, and ceremonies are not held in the Gardens themselves; the Gardens are for elopements and photographs. For 50 guests, one Mercedes Sprinter looping from the village hotels to Ford Park does it in about three rounds, or two vans in a single pass. For an elopement, an SUV out to Ford Park and back covers it. Vail Village hotels are a three minute ride, Avon about 17 minutes, Beaver Creek Village around 22, and Eagle County Regional a little over 40.
Everything out by 9pm
The Gardens run 9am to 9pm and want guests and vendors cleared by nine. That is early for a Vail wedding, and it means the exit is a hard stop rather than a slow fade. We stage at the Ford Park lot about 20 minutes before close and loop until the terrace is empty. A dinner at a village restaurant afterwards is the same loop in the other direction. The terrace is mostly covered but there is no indoor backup, so settle the weather plan with your planner and let us know if the location changes.
Check the amphitheater calendar
The Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater is next door. On a show night the Frontage Road backs up, the Ford Park lot charges an event parking fee, and the music carries. We look at the amphitheater schedule for your date before we set pickup times and add room where it is needed.
The season runs from the start of June to early October. Tell us the headcount, the hotel and the end time and we will keep the plan as simple as the venue is. To get going, request an event quote here. There is more on how we handle a full weekend under wedding transportation, and guests coming through DEN should look at Denver Airport to Vail.
