Lion Square Lodge Wedding Transportation
The address on the invitation will say 660 Lionshead Place. A driver who types that into a map and follows it will end up at a bollard. Lionshead Place is a restricted street inside the Lionshead pedestrian mall, and Lion Square Lodge at the Gondola is reached from the other side, at its entrance off West Lionshead Circle on the parking structure side of the complex.
We have made roughly two dozen trips to Lion Square since 2022, most of them airport drops for hotel guests, so our drivers already know to come in off the circle. Anyone you hire who does not know Lionshead will learn it on your wedding day, with a van full of your guests.
The West Lionshead Circle entrance
The circle is where every drivable Lionshead hotel loads, so on a Saturday afternoon our van is sharing it with the Arrabelle, The Hythe and the Antlers. There is no holding spot at the Lion Square door. Our drivers pull in, unload, and leave, then come back for the next pass on schedule. The lodge publishes nothing about guest parking, and the realistic answer for anyone driving themselves is the Lionshead parking structure next door. In winter the walk from the circle to the lodge can be slick, and we build a few minutes into each pickup for it.
Lawn in summer, decks the rest of the year
Summer weddings use the Lion Square Lawn on Gore Creek for the ceremony and a tent for dinner, with cocktails on the Pool Deck. Outside summer the three conference rooms with their wraparound decks take over. Either way the day stays on one property, which is unusual in Vail and simplifies the transportation to two moves: getting people in before the ceremony and getting them home afterward. Capacity is about 300.
The Eagle Bahn Gondola loads right beside the lodge. If your ceremony is up the mountain, Vail Resorts carries guests on the gondola and we handle hotel to base and the ride home.
Which guests ride and which ones walk
Guests at Lion Square, the Arrabelle or The Hythe walk. Guests in Vail Village are about 4 minutes away by road, Avon about 13, Beaver Creek about 18, and Eagle County Airport about 38.
A 150 guest lawn wedding with 70 people outside Lionshead is a two van job. Two Sprinters leave the Vail Village hotels 60 and 35 minutes before the ceremony, 14 guests each per pass, and everyone is standing on the lawn with time to spare. The same two vans come back at the end and loop to Vail Village for about 90 minutes. With guests spread to Avon or Beaver Creek, one van takes the valley and the other keeps the village loop going. All of it is in private, all wheel drive Mercedes Sprinters and SUVs with a chauffeur, never a shared ride.
Send us the ceremony time, the head count and where the block is, and we will build the schedule around the circle. When you are ready, request an event quote, see how our wedding transportation works, or look at the Denver Airport to Vail lane for guests flying in.
