The Lodge at Vail Wedding Transportation
Start with the porte cochere, because it is small. The Lodge at Vail sits at 174 Gore Creek Drive, which is inside the pedestrian core of Vail Village, and its vehicle entrance is a short porte cochere reached off Vail Road and Willow Bridge Road under the village delivery rules. Vail Resorts, which runs the Lodge as a RockResort, says plainly that none of its wedding venues have on site parking. So the question for a wedding here is not where guests park. It is how many vehicles the porte cochere can take at once, and the answer is one.
What the bell staff decide
We have driven to the Lodge more than 60 times since 2022, mostly bringing hotel guests up from the airports, and the one constant is that the exact drop spot and the window you are allowed in it can shift with whatever else the hotel has going on that day. Before the first wedding run our driver checks in with the bell staff and takes the spot they give. Then the rhythm is drop, pull out, come back on time. No van waits in the porte cochere between runs.
Because only one vehicle can unload at a time, we space arrivals a few minutes apart rather than sending two vans in together. A Sprinter fits comfortably. Nothing bigger belongs on Vail Road.
Gondola One is at the door
Gondola One loads a few steps from the Lodge, which is why Vail Resorts offers a summer ceremony at the Holy Cross Event Deck as an upgrade to a Lodge reception. The resort carries guests up and down on the gondola. We bring out of town guests to the same porte cochere before the upload, collect them at the base after the download if the reception is elsewhere, and run the hotel loop when the night ends. For a Lodge reception the download simply walks across to the International Room.
Two rooms, two sizes of wedding
The International Room holds 260, seated or standing, and books year round on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Cucina seats 80 or takes 120 standing with its patio and fire pit. The Lodge has 165 rooms, and a lot of guests sleep there or in another village hotel and never see a van. The people who ride are the overflow in Lionshead, Cascade Village, Avon or Beaver Creek.
Take a 200 guest International Room wedding with 70 guests outside the village. Two of our Sprinters on timed departures bring them in over two or three rounds each, one van in the porte cochere at a time. Beaver Creek is about 20 minutes away, Avon roughly 15 and Eagle County Airport around 40. A Cucina dinner for 80 is usually one van and an SUV. Every vehicle is chauffeured, private and all wheel drive, which matters on the Vail Road approach in January as much as on the interstate.
Give us the room, the head count and the hotels and we will lay out the runs around the porte cochere. To get started, request an event quote. Our wedding transportation page has the detail on how shuttles run, and the Eagle County Airport to Vail lane is for guests arriving at Eagle.
