Avanti Vail Wedding Transportation

If your planner's venue list still says Larkspur at Golden Peak, it is out of date. Larkspur closed in April 2024 and the space at 458 Vail Valley Drive is now Avanti Vail, a food hall style venue with ten event spaces, five food stalls, two bars and a ceremony lawn. The published capacity is up to 800 guests with a minimum of ten, which is a wider range than any other room in Vail, and it is open all year with the busiest months June through September and December.

The easiest address in Vail to drive to

Golden Peak sits just east of Vail Village, and unlike the village core it is on a public road. Vail Valley Drive is open to traffic and the Golden Peak base has a drop loop, so a Sprinter pulls in, unloads at the venue and moves on without negotiating a pedestrian zone or a porte cochere queue. We have driven guests to and from this address about 20 times since 2022, so the loop and the turn off Vail Valley Drive are routine for our drivers. The venue lists parking as included in the site fee along with shuttle availability, which makes Avanti one of the few places in town where a guest with a car has a legitimate option. Most still will not drive at night, which is where we come in.

Vail Village hotels are three minutes away, close enough that some guests walk in summer and almost nobody does in a December snowfall. Manor Vail Lodge is next door and Tivoli Lodge is a short walk, so a block in either needs no van at all. Avon is about 17 minutes, Beaver Creek 22, and Eagle County Regional Airport about 42.

Ski school traffic in December

Golden Peak doubles as the Vail ski school and children's center. In winter the base gets congested when lessons start in the morning and again when they let out in the afternoon. A December wedding at Avanti should keep its guest arrivals clear of those two windows, and we time the first departures accordingly. Vail Valley Drive on a snow day is one reason our fleet of Mercedes Sprinters and SUVs is entirely all wheel drive.

Moving a crowd the village cannot absorb

Eight hundred is a number that changes the plan. A 300 guest wedding with 200 people in Vail Village and Lionshead is a short hop, so three Sprinters running continuously bring everyone to the drop loop in about 45 minutes. Add a fourth van on fixed departure times for a down valley block in Avon or Beaver Creek, where the longer ride makes a loop inefficient. A ceremony on the Avanti lawn means there is no mid event move; everything happens on the same few acres.

The return runs the same loop backward for the last 90 minutes, loading at the Golden Peak drop loop. Because the venue can hold so many people, we count the outside guests carefully before quoting. A 500 guest reception with most people in a Vail block is a very different fleet from a 500 guest reception where half the room lives in Eagle County.

Guests flying into Denver ride up on our Denver Airport to Vail lane to their hotel, not to the venue. When you know the hotels and the headcount, request an event quote so we can size the Golden Peak loop. Our wedding transportation page sets out how the rest of the weekend works.
